Elders

Jesus calls for mature followers to serve His church as Elders, whom we sometimes call Pastors (simply because of their paternal qualities). Qualifications for being an elder are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The purpose of the Elder is to give spiritual oversight to the church. This includes 1). Praying (talking to God and getting direction from Him on how to conduct their own lives, encourage the lives of others, and guide the direction of the church as a whole), 2). Studying Scripture, 3). Remaining loyal to the vision of the church, 4). Caring for people, 5). Teaching, 6). Living exemplary lives, 7). Protecting the people of the church from misleading teachers and teachings, and 8). Developing others.

...And You!

You may not be called to be a "pastor", nevertheless you are called to minister which simply means, you are called to serve others. Ministry is meeting the practical, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of others. It is the action we take as Christians to reflect God's character that honors Him the most.
At The Nations Church, we believe in modeling and aim to demonstrate it.
